Fourth-ranking country in the MENA region
With 4.7 million web users, Algeria ranks fourth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) among a total of 17 countries, according to a research published on the specialized site of Nielsen Online and corroborated by Internet World Stats and the International Telecommunication Union. Data were updated last 30 June. (This website identifies all users having gained access to the Internet over the prior 30-day period as a single user). The Internet penetration ratio in Algeria is 13.6 percent for a population of 35 million.
